Maris Piper
The variety Maris Piper was introduced to the UK in 1966. It is a main crop potato and is one of the most widely grown potato varieties grown in the UK. It is a good all-rounder suitable for mash, baked, chips and roast potatoes. It is planted in the Spring, nurtured throughout the Summer enjoying the British sun and showers, harvested in October and stored throughout the Winter for us to enjoy until the new crop is ready the following year.
Usage and Storage
Scrub them to make baked potatoes and wedges. Peel them to make boiled, mash, chips, roast and dauphinois potatoes.
Potatoes and Vegetables store for longer if they are kept in a very dark and cold part of your house. Always store in the paper bag and close the top to stop the light filtering in.
